Standard Bank Longmeadow Estate Corporate Event
A fun family weekend was arranged on the expansive lawns at Longmeadow Function Venue on Montecasino Boulevard.
At the initial site visit with the venue management, events planner Hylton Morby-Smith of 24Carrots and ourselves, a ground plan for the event was established, with the large central tree-d area in front of the buildings for our Grand Raj, Raj Darbar and Conservatories as food stations. The idea was to leave them all open, each reflecting different colours or nationality, so that guests could relax, mingling among them and appreciating the spacious gardens whilst enjoying the variety of cuisines being served. Some of the marquees were draped in white fabric to enhance the individual colour schemes.
The side gardens were to be a fun and adventure playground for children, with various activities including jumping castles. Hot dogs, hamburgers and cold drinks and other foods were also available for them.
Set-up day was warm and sunny as we planned and positioned everything. A warm sunny weekend was forecast, however, Saturday morning dawned to intermittent rain and fairly cold weather, not ideal for what was planned! Arrangements had to be changed and the side walls of our tents had to be attached as well as plans for the function adjusted!
The weather didn’t dampen the spirits or the attendance numbers of guests! It was a different kind of function from what was expected, but no less successful!
